The important bits, in plain English
- These are skill-based prize competitions, not gambling. You must answer a question correctly to qualify.
- There is always a free postal entry route with exactly the same chance of winning — no purchase necessary.
- You must be 18 or over and a UK resident.
- Every competition has a guaranteed winner, drawn at random and live-streamed — even if it doesn't sell out.
- Most physical prizes include a tax-free cash alternative you can take instead.
- There's a maximum number of entries per person on every competition, so no one can spend without limit.
The full terms below are what legally applies. Please read them before entering.
1. Who we are (the Promoter)
The promoter is TBC Limited (trading as PrizeArena), registered office United Kingdom. You can contact us any time at support@example.com.
2. The competitions
These terms apply to all competitions on https://competitions-site.pages.dev. Every competition is a skill-based prize competition. To be entered you must correctly answer the multiple-choice skill question shown on the competition page (the “Competition Question”). Entry fees are payable for each paid entry; a free postal route is always available (clause 4).
3. Entering online
- View the competition and answer the Competition Question.
- Choose how many tickets you want (up to the per-person limit shown).
- Complete checkout and payment.
- We'll confirm your entry and your allocated ticket number(s) by email and in your account.
You may enter as many times as you like up to the per-person limit, or until the competition sells out. Entries must be received before the closing date and time (UK time) shown on the competition page.
4. Free postal entry route (no purchase necessary)
Free entries carry exactly the same chance of winning as paid entries. To enter free by post:
- You must first create a free account on the Website (so we can match your entry and contact you if you win).
- Send an unenclosed postcard by first or second class post to: Free Entry Route, [ADDRESS TBC], United Kingdom.
- Include your full name, address, contact phone and email, the competition name, and your answer to the Competition Question — matching your account details.
- One entry per postcard; you may send multiple postcards up to the per-person limit. Bulk entries in one envelope count as a single entry.
- Incomplete, illegible, hand-delivered or late entries can't be accepted. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
See our free entry route page for the full method.
5. Instant wins
Some competitions include instant-win prizes hidden across the tickets. Where a ticket matches, the prize is revealed and credited to your account at the point of entry. Instant wins are an addition — every ticket is also entered into the main draw. Instant-win eligibility for postal entries is set out on the competition page.
6. The draw & choosing a winner
After the closing date, all qualifying entries are placed into a random draw and the winner is selected using a verifiable random method (for example a published random-number process), streamed live. The draw takes place as soon as reasonably possible and within 7 days of the closing date. Entrant names and ticket numbers may be shown during the live draw and in a published entry list. If you'd prefer your name not to be shown, email us at least 48 hours before the draw and we'll censor it (we may still have to share it with the Advertising Standards Authority on request).
7. Eligibility
Competitions are open to UK residents aged 18 or over, except our staff, our suppliers/agents connected with the competition, and their immediate families or households. We may ask for proof of identity, age and eligibility before releasing a prize. Automated or incomplete entries won't be accepted.
8. Prizes & cash alternatives
Each prize is described on its competition page and is correct to the best of our knowledge at the opening date. Prizes are subject to availability; we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, or offer the stated cash alternative, where necessary. Prizes are not transferable. Where a prize is a vehicle: it comes with a valid MOT if required; road tax and insurance are not included and are the winner's responsibility; ownership transfers by V5 once eligibility checks are complete.
9. Winners
We'll contact the winner using the details provided as soon as practicable after the draw. If we can't reach a winner within 21 days, we may draw an alternate winner at random from the remaining qualifying entries, repeating until a prize is claimed. We publish the winner's name and town/county (an ASA requirement); tell us before the closing date if you object and we'll limit this where we can.
10. Claiming your prize
You must claim personally — prizes can't be claimed by someone else on your behalf. Delivery or collection details are shown on the competition page or provided on request. Cash prizes are paid by bank transfer to an account in your name, on proof of identity. Keep your contact details up to date via your account.
11. Cancellations & refunds
Because entries are allocated immediately and give an immediate chance to win, the standard 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations does not generally apply once you've entered. This does not affect your statutory rights. Entry fees are non-refundable except where we void, suspend or cancel a competition (clause 15), in which case we refund entry fees paid. We may withhold refunds and void entries in cases of fraud or breach of these terms.
12. Responsible play
Competitions should be fun and affordable. Please only spend what you can comfortably afford and within the per-person limits. There is always a free route. If you'd like us to close your account or set a limit, email support@example.com. See our responsible play page.
13. Complaints
If something's gone wrong, email support@example.com with your account and competition details and we'll acknowledge within 3 working days and aim to resolve within 14 days. Our decision on the conduct of a competition and its draw is final.
14. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, and so far as the law allows, we are not liable for entries that are lost, delayed or not completed for reasons outside our control, and our liability is limited to the entry fee you paid. Your statutory rights are not affected.
15. Changes, suspension & cancellation
We may amend these terms from time to time (the latest version is always on the Website). We won't extend a closing date just to sell more entries. There is no minimum number of entries — the draw goes ahead and the prize is awarded regardless of how many are sold. We may void, suspend or cancel a competition where circumstances outside our control make it necessary, and will refund entry fees paid if we do.
16. Data protection
We handle your personal data in line with our privacy policy and UK GDPR. If you're a winner, you agree we may use your name, town/county and (with consent) image to announce the result and for reasonable publicity. You can ask us to stop contacting you and delete your data, but if we can't contact you we can't award you a prize.
17. General
Competitions are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by any social-media platform. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. Please keep a copy for your records.
This is an improved draft based on standard UK prize-competition practice. It must be reviewed and approved by a qualified solicitor, with the company details, addresses and free-entry process confirmed, before the site accepts real entries.
