Frequently asked questions
The basics
Is this gambling?
No. These are skill-based prize competitions with a free postal entry route, which places them outside UK gambling law. You must answer a genuine skill question to enter, and no gambling licence is required.
Do I have to be a certain age?
Yes — you must be 18 or over and a UK resident to enter.
How much does it cost?
Ticket prices vary by competition and many start under £1. You can also enter any competition free by post.
Entering & tickets
Why is there a skill question?
The skill question is what makes each competition a lawful prize competition rather than a lottery. You must answer it correctly to qualify.
Is there a limit on tickets?
Yes. Every competition has a maximum number of entries per person to keep things fair.
How does the free postal route work?
Send a postcard with your details and answer to our free-entry address. Postal entries have exactly the same chance of winning as paid entries. See the free entry route page for the full method.
Draws & prizes
Are the draws guaranteed?
Yes. Every competition is drawn on its closing date whether or not it sells out, so there is always a winner.
How are winners chosen?
Using a verifiable random method, with the draw live-streamed on social media. Winners are contacted directly and published in the winners archive.
Can I take cash instead of the prize?
Most physical prizes include a tax-free cash alternative you can choose instead of the item.
How will I get my prize?
We contact the winner directly to arrange delivery of the prize or payment of the cash alternative.
